 Vitamin D is one of the most frequently deficient nutrients in the population.
 Although the "sunshine vitamin" can be produced by the human body itself through UV-light-induced vitamin D synthesis, the body's own vitamin D production is reduced by many other factors (e.g., sunscreen, medications, season, age, weather).
