Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) has been used for medicinal purposes in India for over 5000 years and in Europe since antiquity. The power of this balsam tree species is successfully employed, for example, in Indian Ayurvedic medicine.
As a sun-loving plant, frankincense brings warmth to the body and joy to the soul.
Each year, a frankincense tree, which can grow up to 6 meters tall, can yield 3 to 7 kilograms of resin, and with careful management, this resin can be harvested for centuries. Incense rituals using this precious tree resin are also very popular.
Our frankincense extract harnesses the concentrated power of the plant in a convenient capsule form. The boswellic acids are key to its beneficial effects. By blocking various enzyme systems (cathepsin G), these plant compounds can harmonize inflammatory processes while being well-tolerated.
Our frankincense extract is of the highest quality and standardized to 65% boswellic acids (260 mg per capsule). The capsules are also lactose-free, fructose-free, and gluten-free. Thanks to its gentle action, our frankincense can also be used by sensitive individuals with delicate digestion.
